Where El Palmar Is
El Palmar lies on the coast just past Coronado as you head west from Panama City, near the town of San Carlos. The turnoff is off the Interamericana, and from the highway it is only a short drive down to the sand. Because it is so close to Coronado – just a few minutes – it is easy to reach from anywhere in the Coronado area.
Driving from Panama City

From the Airports
Most international visitors arrive at Tocumen International Airport (PTY) on the east side of Panama City. From there:
- By rental car: Head west through or around the city to the Interamericana; total drive is roughly two hours to El Palmar.
- By private transfer: Many visitors book a door-to-door transfer, which is the most comfortable option after a long flight.
